Men's Breakfast
Whitehouse Station, NJ
March 31, 2007

Reggie Torbor and George McGovern recently addressed a group of men at Calvary Bible Church
in Whitehouse Station, NJ.  Reggie is a linebacker with the NY Giants.  He's a fourth year veteran
out of Auburn University.  Reggie shared his story of growing up in a home where he was a
"latch-key kid".  His moral compass wasn't established until he reached his junior year at the
university.  When he arrived in New York, he encountered challenges to his compass that were,
at first, too hard to handle.  It took him a couple of years to regain his moral bearings and build
some structures into his life to safeguard his heart.  Reggie explained that reading the Bible on a
regular basis is one of the elements that has helped him.  George followed up with some thoughts
on the upcoming holiday known as Good Friday.  His emphasis was that our Lord suffered not only
for those who loved him, but even for those who wanted to kill him.  What a contrast to human
nature--to love those who don't love you.
