Youth Football Experience
April 2006
On April 18, 2006 sixty boys from the Link Community School of Newark were treated to an afternoon of athletic challenge and inspirational "nugget" character messages from members of the New York Giants at the Athletes in Action Youth Football Experience. With help from 10 special sponsors, these boys took part in football skill activities and then paused between the activities to listen as one of the participating Giants players emphasized the importance of choosing friends carefully, perseverance, goal-setting, and honesty. Giants players who participated included: Jay Feely, Antonio Pierce, Shawn O'Hara, Jared Lorenzen, Reggie Torbor, Justin Tuck, Osi Umenyiora, Mike Jennings, Gibril Wilson, Frank Walker, and R.W. McQuarters.
